Michelangelo’s Piccolo Mondo
Flair, adventure and culinary delight are at the heart of the menu at the Piccolo Mondo Restaurant.
Drawing from an Italian theme the menu combines a range of traditional dishes that, under the watchful eye of the Executive Chef and his team, have received a modern twist. Designed not to just feed the appetite and appease the taste buds, several of the dishes bring with them a visual signature never seen before.
“The clientele of the Piccolo Mondo, and in fact the Michelangelo hotel in general, is so diverse that we have to create a very delicate balance between food that is fashionable, contemporary yet modern, food that has a wow factor, must be mainly food that is tasty and appeases all our clienteles’ discerning palates,” says, Executive Chef at the Michelangelo Hotel. “The menu captures nuances of all the components a menu needs to set us apart from other restaurants out there.
“We believe that our new menu will cater for not only the business weary traveller and the adventurous tourist, but also the many visitors we see popping in for a meal on their visit to the Nelson Mandela Square,”.
The menu boasts culinary delights such as a deconstructed Caprese salad, chocolate pasta, and a honey mustard hot smoked salmon that is served at your table in a mystical cloud of smoke underneath a glass dome, while the classic crème brûlée is still served on dry ice and remains a showpiece of the menu.
While the team has taken the opportunity to experiment with their creative side with some new dishes, they have also stuck to some old time favourites of the Piccolo Mondo. The grills are now even better, the array of local dishes even more diverse, with a number of new fresh pasta dishes having been added.
