The name Ngwenya meaning "The Crocodile" is derived from a mountain in Swaziland that resembles a basking crocodile, where a small group of Swazi craftsmen practise the age old artistry of "breathing life into glass". At Ngwenya Glass, you can see the craftsmen at work and the discerning shopper will find an almost endless selection of glassware for every occasion in shapes and sizes of every description. Many of the items are "once-off's" - truly original pieces and the miniaturised Big Five collection captures lasting memories of South Africa. Within the village there are a number of craft ware shops and an Italian garden restaurant.
Open 7 days a week from 09h00 to 16h30.
